While they've been surprisingly understanding and cooperative, the replacement thumb drive they sent isn't being recognized by the car. I've been bouncing phone calls with HERE ever since.
#Gm gps disk map update
When I confronted them about the missing NAV update, they explained that nothing that they did to my car could have caused that to happen, and that if I wanted to recover my update, I would have to contact HERE (formerly NAVTEC) myself and try to get a new update from them (thumb drive is read-once-only, so mine won't work again). At least, after about an hour of screwing around, I got most of those programmed back in. Oh, and just for the hell of it, they also erased all of my radio presets (there were a bunch). Then, about three weeks ago, I had the car at the dealer so they could update a couple of modules.and when I got it back, the NAV update was gone (reverted to the old, original, bug-ridden version!), along with all of my stored NAV addresses/contacts/locations, many of which cannot be recovered without driving all over the country again. Whatever you do, DO NOT take it to any dealer to have them do it! I did my own NAV update a few months back.

Here's a link to the thread I entered after doing mine:

It's a thumb drive that comes with a very simple instruction 's only like 3 or 4 very simple steps.
